Grains that should be a part of your child’s diet

In today’s busy lifestyle we have less time to develop healthy eating habits in our kids. But you will be glad to know that with little diet and lifestyle changes, this can be done. We often struggle to provide nutrition to our kids, but it will be easy with these changes now. Here is a list of grains that are packed with fiber, protein, vitamins, and minerals. You can include these grains in your kid’s diet. Check out the list below:

• Ragi

Ragi also known as Millet is a super grain that is packed with vitamins and minerals. These are important for bone development, dental health and overall growth of a child. It also contains nutrients such as iron and vitamin C which helps in maintain hemoglobin levels.

• Barley (Jau)

This is a common breakfast cereal and is loaded with various health benefits because of the presence of essential vitamins and minerals. Barley also contains magnesium, phosphorus, vitamin B1, manganese, and selenium. This super grain is mainly good for stabilizing sugar levels and sustaining energy levels in kids. You can add it to your kid’s diet by adding it to soups, salads, and stuffing.

• Jowar

Jowar is a powerhouse of nutrients like protein, fiber, iron, magnesium, etc which are vital to the growth and development of children. It helps improve bone density, heart health, digestion, and blood circulation.

• Foxtail Millet (Kangni)

This one is a super grain with the presence of lots of nutrients. It is also a rich source of iron and calcium, both of them are crucial for your baby’s bones. You can add it in their diet y making kangni khichdi or porridge.
