Knee pain is a common complaint from children as it can happen due to many reasons. The anatomy of the knee is different in children when compared to adults and most of the time, it is not something major that may have caused the knee pain but it is always better to take action before something serious happens

Here is when you should take the knee pain of your child seriously:

  • If their knee has lost range of full-motion.
  • Your child is unable to walk because of the knee’s ability to support body weight.
  • Popping sound while moving your knee around.
  • Sudden loss of strength in the knees.
  • Constant limping
  • No improvement in condition even after a few days
  • Swelling around knees without any injury.

There are many reasons why your child could be suffering from knee pain. Here are a few possible reasons:

  • Juvenile Arthritis
  • Inflammation due to infection
  • Jumper’s Knee
  • Quadricep’s Tendinitis
  • Soft Tissue Injuries

Your child may be suffering from knee pain due to these reasons if the situation doesn’t seem to approve. You can ask your children to be careful while playing and exercising to avoid any injuries. If the situation doesn’t improve, take your child to the doctor to know the underlying cause.
