Jul 06 , 2020

Flu is often dismissed as common cold and cough but it is contagious and if not controlled in time, the virus can circulate and infect others as well. Flu is caused by Influenza A and B viruses and children are comparatively at higher risk of catching the flu. The risk of suffering from flu can depend on seasons and also other factors. It is important to get vaccinated not only to protect your kid but also to keep other family members safe.

Flu transmission

Children can unknowingly transmit the infection to their peers and also to other people in crowded spaces. The virus causing the flu can transmit through inhaling infected droplets, touching, sharing food, and also while playing in groups. It can further cause pneumonia, dehydration, asthma and if the condition does not improve, it may even result in death.

Symptoms of flu

The symptoms may start with fever, runny nose, body ache, sore throat, and your child may also feel weak. They may also complain of stomach ache, earache, and shortness of breath. If the situation does not improve then make sure you contact the doctor. Make sure that your child consumes plenty of fluids and stays away from the elderly people so that they don’t pass on the infection.
