Ways to Celebrate Rakhi Away From Home

Aug 20 , 2021

The meaning of normalcy has changed over two years and so has the way we celebrated festivals. This Rakhi, many of us are living away from our families and won’t be able to meet our relatives as COVID-19 cases are still being reported. This doesn’t mean you have to give up on the celebration entirely. Since most of us have adjusted to the distance, it will be easier to work around it and plan the celebrations accordingly.

Here are some ideas to help you celebrate Rakhi away from home and make the best situation.

Send curated hampers

Won’t be seeing your sibling this year but you can still show them some love with customised hampers and include all things they love. There are many gifting options and you can pick the one that your sibling like the most. Additional tip: Add a handwritten note to make your gift extra special.

Send some homemade sweets

Nothing beats homemade dishes and this would be a great time to send over some freshly made sweets. If possible, send over your sibling’s favourite sweet and have it together over the video call. Many courier services have same-day delivery options.

Celebrate over video call

Call up all your relatives and cousins and celebrate Rakhi over a video call. There would be a lot to catch up on and the spirit of the festivities would remain the same. You can also plan some fun activities too.

Get matching outfits

You can definitely twin with your siblings in matching outfits. Even if you don’t find something exactly the same to wear, you can pick contrasting or similar colours. Surprise your sibling by gifting them an outfit that matches yours.

How you are planning to celebrate Rakhi this year?
