Aug 21 , 2019

Actress Chhavi Mittal who is a mother of two kids is indeed a pro at maintaining her personal and professional life. She knows how to manage time well and not just look after her babies and office, but also takes out time in empowering new mothers. Recently the actress talked about balancing life, taking out time for herself and more about motherhood.

According to her handling, one child is still easy but handling two kids is a task. You have to make a routine in your life according to the first baby and then as per the second baby and it is not an easy thing.

On breastfeeding she said,”. Breastfeeding is a beautiful thing between a mother and a child and it’s a bond that is impossible to break. Those 20 minutes with the baby is bliss. So I like that our time to be secluded and with no one around. Yes, there are times when we have to step out of the house with the baby. Public breastfeeding should be allowed. If you are allowed to smoke, drink, abuse in public, why not breastfeeding? It’s the most beautiful and natural thing to do. All of us have done it at some point of time. Why shy away from it? A lot of importance is given to breastfeeding. A lot of new mothers ask me what to do if they aren’t able to breastfeed their babies exclusively. I first feel that one needn’t stress about it. The first six months one should exclusively breastfeed the baby as it’s important. But if you aren’t able to due to whatever reason, then top milk is fine at times.

On taking out some me-time, she expressed her views: she feels that after the baby is born people are so excited to spend time with the baby that they forget about their mother. Mothers also tend to forget themselves. The baby will be healthy only when his mother is happy. Yes, they can sense their mother’s mood so give yourself some time and break.

About the fitness of new mothers, she said ,” A lot of women don’t talk about fitness nowadays as they are talking about weight loss. That’s my problem. I don’t think just losing weight will help. If you are fit, weight loss will follow. The transformation that your body goes through after delivery, is very crucial to look after the body. Also she tells that breastfeeding milk is formed in fat cells and you can lose up to 500 calories by just sitting and breastfeeding. So she advises all the mothers to breastfeed and maintain a balanced diet.

On spending time with your husband she advises mothers to set up a routine and spend at least one hour daily with their partners. It can be after the office or before bed as well but it is important to maintain that connection.

In the end, she advises all mothers to be the way they are and do what they want to do. Just do what is right for your baby and move ahead.
