What New Mothers Need to Prepare For the Post-Pandemic World

With this coronavirus pandemic, your life is never going to be the same again, and this is the same case when you become parents. With a child in your life, everything changes, especially for women. A lady goes through, postnatal anxiety, breastfeeding issues, mood swings, fear of a lot of things, new experiences, and many other things. And the coronavirus pandemic can impact your mental health and parenting style. Well but no need to worry as here is a list of things that new mothers need to prepare for a post coronavirus pandemic world: 

  • Planned Doctors visits and vaccines 

This is one of the most important things for parents. Vaccinations for diseases like pneumonia, polio, and measles are a must for a healthier life ahead; likewise, for pregnant women, regular scans are important to determine the baby’s growth and development. You need to figure out how you are going to work on doctor visits and vaccinations. 

  • Baby care supplies 

It looks like covid-19 is not going to stop anytime soon. The only solution is to constantly monitor our hygiene, practice social distancing and wear masks whenever we go out. And also go out as less as possible. A new parent wishes to stock every essential baby care item, especially during these times when most places are shut. So to avoid any situation of running out on stuff, try to collect and stock things. 

  • Can coronavirus affect babies? 

Well yes, this virus can affect babies. In case a mother is tested positive for COVID-19, the delivery has to be done wearing PPE by the medical staff and the baby is taken slightly away from the mother. 

  • Postpartum depression 

Postpartum depression is the dark side of pregnancy for some women. If you feel that you are not able to concentrate or unable to bond with the baby, stop blaming yourself. This is the first time and you will get it right don’t worry. Talk about this feeling and stay calm. 

  • Avoid bottle feed

Doctors say that breast milk has nutrients that help the infant to develop good immunity. So in this era of covid we should not refrain from breastfeeding. In bottle feeding there is more exposure to various surfaces, so we must avoid them. It is also important for mothers who breastfeed to maintain a healthy diet and drink plenty of water.
