Ways to Keep Children Active in Summer Vacations

May 22 , 2018

Summer holidays are fun but after few days kids tend to get bored at home so its important to keep them  engaged. With the rise of technology, kids only stay busy with it and avoid doing physical activities which not only makes them lazy but brings unhealthy changes to their lifestyle. In this environment, parents need to look out for ways to encourage their kids to go outdoors and have an active lifestyle. Here are some ways to keep your children active in summer vacations.

  1. Go cycling

The best way to ensure that your child is doing exercise is to accompany them. Set a routine and regularly go for cycling with them. It will keep both of you active and healthy.

  1. Stay active indoors

Due to hot weather in summers, it might become difficult to go out so try to stay active indoors. There are many activities you can practice with your kid like washing toys, playing together and cooking etc. You can also plan some activities for your kids and their friends such as treasure hunt, races, hula hoops and other indoor games.

  1. Enroll them in summer camp

Getting your child’s admission done in summer camp is a great idea. Many camps offer daytime activities and focus on kids overall development. Camps are a fantastic way to help your child learn something useful and gain some knowledge while having fun at the same time.

  1. Replace screen time with activities

Your child could spend many hours being active on the screen watching television or playing games on mobile but replace this time with some other activity. You can plan family activities or play with them at that time. Try to reduce this time as much as you can or encourage them to watch educational videos at the same time.

  1. Swimming time

Swimming time is a great way to have fun and be active in summers. Set a particular swimming time for your kid and let them play and enjoy in the pool. We are sure they will love this time of the day.
