While it can be difficult to see your baby wrapped up in wires but being aware of things and doing your research always helps. So we tell you a few important things about NICU

Your child is always under best possible supervision

The nurses and doctors who work in the NICU around your children are well trained and always try to give them appropriate medical attention.

Visiting procedures are strict

Since the babies in NICU are preterm, their chances of contracting an infection are high so frequent visits are not allowed. Mothers are usually allowed to visit their babies on request.

You can get involved with your baby

A mother’s touch and skin to skin interaction are important for the growth of your child. You can ask your doctor how often you can get to hold your baby.

Mothers may not be allowed visits if they are unwell

If you even have mild cold and cough, the doctors may not allow you to visit NICU as they will not want to put the baby’s health at risk.

These are the important things you should know about NICU. The staff at the hospital expects you to be patient while they take care of your baby. If you have any questions about your child’s health you can always ask your doctor and they’ll be happy to answer.
