Treatment

OCD can be improved with medical help, once it is diagnosed. Here are the different treatment methods:

Therapy: Cognitive and behavioral methods can help children stay in control and deal with their fears. Therapy can help children understand how to deal with their obsessive behavior and figure out ways to make it better.
Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) for treatment: The Serotonin levels in children with OCD can be low. Doctors may advise children to take the doses.

Try to talk to your children and help them feel comfortable about sharing how they feel. Children with OCD are often embarrassed about their condition and find it difficult to share things openly.
